LACA is the professional body representing 1250 catering managers and suppliers who provide catering services to all sectors of Local Authorities in England, Wales and Scotland. Local authority caterers are responsible for providing more than 2.5 million school lunches a day in more than 22,000 schools, the LACA network is the country's largest provider of school catering.
LACA is a major Government consultee on catering related issues and provides its members with information on key industry developments, Government legislation and policies affecting the local authority catering sector.
LACA supports its membership by creating networking opportunities for the exchange of views and information by holding briefings, regional meetings and an annual conference.
LACA aims to set high standards of professionalism in Local Authority Catering, to be the lead consultative body to the Government on all aspects of School Food and to equip caterers with a network of support and knowledge to meet future demands of the service.

The categories of membership and the current prices are shown below. One advantage is that all the resources of NSMW are provided free of charge by LACA.
This is available to managers of any local authority catering organisation to enable them to involve their whole management team in the activities of LACA. The package is for five named members. All correspondence is sent to the Corporate Head Office.
This classification is for an individual school or local authority that has one named member. This could be the head teacher, bursar, individual teacher, and Governor or education officer.
Associate membership is for people or businesses working with or supplying to local authority caterers. It would suit consultants to the sector, food and equipment suppliers and anyone else with an interest in this market place. It entitles you to all the benefits of individual membership except that you are unable to vote at meetings.
LACA values the experience of its long term members and welcomes their continued involvement beyond retirement.

Corporate: (5 members) £306.49 + VAT £40.51 = £347.00
Associate (for suppliers only): First member - £226.06 + VAT £36.94 = £263.00 Extra members - £91.60 + VAT £13.40 = £105.00
Retired Member: £20.11 + VAT £0.89 = £21.00

Joining Fee Member : £12.77 + VAT £2.23 = £15.00
Joining Fee Associate : £12.77 + VAT £2.23 = £15.00
Membership subscriptions are renewable on 1st January of each year. £15.00 of each membership fee is zero rated for VAT purposes.
NEW MEMBERS WHO JOIN AFTER THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE (NORMALLY JULY) WILL BE CHARGED PRO RATA TO DECEMBER.
