Get remembering took place last year and was one of the most popular days to get involved with as schools and caterers recognised the importance of 11th November, Remembrance Day. At 11am millions of people will observe two minutes silence to remember those who have fought in wars past and present.
The aims are to create awareness of the day, what it stands for, educate young people about what school food was like during the war and the type of food that soldiers eat in war today and how it helps them recover. There is an interview with Falkland's war hero Simon Weston that can be used in an assembly or class.
School meals for all began in the 1940's during the Second World War and were introduced because young people were malnourished. The same might apply today as so many young people are still eating the wrong things.
