Encouraging children to eat healthily is notoriously difficult. To combat this, the company launched its "hidden vegetable" concept, where small pieces of carrot are added to all tomato based sauces, improving the nutritional content of the meals. The process also helps tackle the hate-hate relationship many children and adults have with vegetables

The brand is committed to championing healthy eating. A typical Pasta King meal is low in sugar and saturated fat and does not contain hydrogenated fats, artificial flavourings, colourings or monosodium glutamate. In addition to this, its meals are GM free and a typical serving contains fewer than 250 calories, which is less than the average sandwich.

The company's pasta is produced in central Italy by a family firm which has made pasta for the past 60 years. Pasta King only uses the finest 100% durum wheat pasta. This pasta has a unique flavour and consistency, which compliments the Pasta King concept and provides a distinctive taste to the Pasta King meal. Pasta King's sauces are all made to order and the ingredients used are of premium quality to ensure the nutritional value of the meals remains consistently high.
